LARS ULRICH

The heart and soul of this band is without question Lars Ulrich.  He's always doing something, whether it's talking, walking, moving his hands and fingers.  The first time I met Lars was in 1991 and I can remember him saying to me as he was signing several items "Where did you get these?" "Can I buy them on the way to the gig?"  Lars was referring to some new magazines I had at the time.  He really like them.  I have seen Lars many times since and I have to admit, once of my favorite Lars scenes was outside a hotel in Chicago.  It was about 4:30am and the show was long over.  I was waiting for band to return and after waiting what seemed like an eternity a van pulled up and out came someone.  It wasn't Lars, but two bodyguards carrying him out of the van.  Classic!  He couldn't even walk.  That's how I like to think of Lars Ulrich.
